More than 200 persons joined in the 100th birthday celebration of Mrs. A. M.
(Clara) Wilson at Bayou Manor, Houston, Texas. Mrs. Wilson was crowned “Queen of
the Day” in the April birthday fete.
Vicky Ross, her great-granddaughter, age 5, brought the tiara on a satin pillow
to Mrs. Wilson a she sat on a throne which had been especially constructed for
the occasion. She was then crowned by her daughter, Mrs. A. F. (Harriet)
Schirber, Jamestown, North Dakota.
Out of town guests were: Professor and Mrs. Arthur Wilson, Norwich, Vermont,
Mrs. A. F. Schirber, Jamestown, North Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ross,
granddaughter, Pat Wilson, and four great-grandchildren, Christopher, Lisa,
Robin and Vicky Ross, Skaneateles, New York, Granddaughter, Jackie Wilson,
Austin, Texas, Nephew John Wilson, Bailey and wife Dorcas, and Mrs. Moreland and
Priscilla Moreland, Rio, Illinois, Miss Flora Bartholomew, Wausau, Wisconsin, a
former Withee resident and pupil of Mrs. A. M. Wilson.
Houston guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson and Mrs. And Mrs. George
Huddleston.
The birthday celebration was at 3:00 p.m. That night Mrs. Wilson had 19 guests
for dinner at Bayou Manor.
