Algan, Dr. A.M. (New Dr. - 1977)
Joining the staff of the Neillsville Memorial Hospital this past week is Dr. A.
M. Algan, who will be having a primary practice in Loyal. Dr. Algan learned just
this past Monday that he was a medical school classmate of Dr. Bahri Gungor, a
physician who has served the Neillsville area for nearly fifteen years. Dr.
Algan is a 1954 graduate of the Istanbul (Turkey) School of Medicine and has
served as a physician with the medical corps of the Turkish army. From 1959
through 1964, he served residencies at numerous American hospitals, including a
term as chief resident of a large Baltimore hospital. A specialist in internal
medicine is married and has three children. His wife, Nurgun, is also a
physician with a specialty of obstetrics and gynecology and hopes to soon begin
her medical practice in the area. Their oldest child is Dilaver, 19, who plans
on attending college this fall, followed by a daughter Fusun,13, and Ozer, 9.
The Algan family have hobbies including stamp collecting, antiques and playing
tennis.
