Wentzel, Earl (7 May 1899 - 2 May 1983)
COLBY -- Earl Wentzel, 83, of Colby died Monday afternoon at the Continental
Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford.
Services will be Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. Raymond
J. Pedretti will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation
will be at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby.
He was born May 7, 1899 in Amherst and received his education there. He married
Naoma Kurtzweil May 26, 1925 in Halder. He farmed in the Edgar and Colby area
all his life, retiring in 1964. In 1966 he moved to Colby.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Vivian) Mengel of Stratford
and Mrs. Kermit (Marion) Lang of Trabuco Canyon, California; three sons, Lavern
of Colby, Clifford of Loyal and Robert of Madison; 19 grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; and one sister, Arpa Wentzel of Janesville.
He was predeceased by two sons, his parents, one sister and one brother.
