Baggage and Transfer Line, Coal and Wood Yard, Local Agent Standard Oil Co. – Neillsville, Wisconsin


Has the principle baggage and transfer line in Neillsville, with office in the Holverson Building on Seventh street, and barn in rear of residence at the corner of Court and Fifth streets, keeping in stock three teams and three drays: also street sprinkler, etc.

Particular attention is given to transferring baggage, merchandise and all kinds of freight to and from railway depot to business places and residences in all parts of the city, doing a large business in that line, keeping three men busy, and special attention is also paid to moving pianos.

Mr. C. Krumrey is also local agent for the Standard Oil Company.

His coal sheds are located on Railway, a short distance east of depot, having a storage capacity of 400 tons, hard and soft coal, being received in car lots direct from mines and lake ports at Milwaukee, Manitowoc, Chicago, Green Bay, Duluth, Superior and Ashland, making a specialty of the Scranton hard coal and the best grades of soft coal for domestic use and steam purposes. At his wood yard in connection all kinds of seasoned hard and soft wood are largely handled, being obtained principally from his own timber lands. Coal and wood are delivered to al parts of the city, having a good city and country trade, this being the principal coal and wood business in town.

The above business was established by Mr. C. Krumrey twenty five years ago, while he has been a resident of the city twenty seven years, having a wide acquaintance with the local trade, and his business in all lines this season is as large as ever.
