Thorp -- Jeffrey R. Gwiazda, 24, Thorp was killed instantly Sunday when the car he was driving overturned in a ditch off County Trunk N, four miles southwest of Thorp. He was declared dead at the scene. Others involved in the accident were Lorry F. Anderson, 25, Route 4, Stanley and Sharon A. Jacks, 20, Route 2, Thorp.

Services for Mr. Gwiazda will be Wednesday at the Thorp Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Robert Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Thorp.

He was born September 27, 1958 in Thorp, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael (Marian Wachsmuth) Gwiazda Sr., and received his education there. He attended Thorp High School. He was presently employed at Nelson Muffler in Neillsville.

Surviving are two sons, Steven and Steward, both of Greenwood; his parents of Thorp; two brothers, Michael Jr., and Brian, both of Thorp; and two sisters, Lorie German of Thorp and Doreen Baures of Withee.
