Melbinger, Anna (23 Nov 1884 – 24 May 1976)
At 1:30 tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, May 27, 1976, funeral services will be
conducted for Mrs. Joseph Melbinger, 91, at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church,
Owen. Father Alexander Fraser will officiate, with burial to be made at
Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
The body will lie in state at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, after four
o’clock today.
Mrs. Melbinger passed away at 7 p.m. Monday, May 24, 1976 at Victory Memorial
Hospital, Stanley, where she had been hospitalized for treatment the past month.
Mrs. Melbinger, nee Anna Erben, was born November 23, 1884 in Whittlesey,
Wisconsin, and received her education in the school system at Chelsea. On
November 20, 1907 she and the late Joseph Melbinger were united in marriage at
Thorp. In 1911 they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where they resided for several
years prior to returning to Clark County, where they farmed in the Town of
Reseburg until their retirement , when they moved to Owen in 1951.
She was a member of St. Katherine’s Church and continued to maintain her home in
the Third Ward after her husband’s death on August, 25, 1961.
Mrs. Melbinger is survived by two sons, Arleigh, Hillside, Ill., and Celand of
Owen; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother.
