Neillsville’s Newest Eagle Scout-Troop 43 (Patterson – 2020)

By Lori Johnson

It’s a journey that few experience, but it’s a very satisfying one for a Boy Scout as well as his family - the knowledge that you have climbed to the highest point -- that of Eagle Scout -- and you are ready to soar.

This journey is one that has many facets and takes many years to complete. www.Scouting.org  states that “Scouting starts with their best “right now” selves and grow into their best future selves, involving fun, hands on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for life.”

For Tucker Patterson of Merrillan, his journey to Eagle began when he became a scout on January 31, 2015. It took him 7 months to attain the rank of tenderfoot - August of 2015. The second class rank was earned January 22, 2017 and First Class only 7 days later. Tucker’s Star rank was attained August 20, 2017, Life rank on March 18, 2018 and at last Eagle on December 31, 2020.
