Wojta, George F. (23 May 1914 – 4 July 1977) With Flag
Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the
Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Charles F. Wojta, 63, of Neillsville, who died
suddenly Monday, July 4, at his home on Seventh St. of an apparent heart attack.
The Rev. Ronald Nordin of Calvary Lutheran Church will officiate, and burial
will follow in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Charles Wojta, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wojta, was born May 23, 1914, in
Chicago, Il., and was educated in schools in Illinois. Upon completing his
formal education, he entered military service and served with the U.S. Army in
Europe during World War II. After his discharge, he returned to Chicago and
worked as a truck mechanic until his retirement in 1968 when the Wojtas moved to
Neillsville. He was the owner and operator of the Brown Jug Antique Shop until
retiring because of failing health.
His marriage to the former Mary D. Gilson took place in Chicago.
She survives, together with two children, David Wojta of Neillsville and Mrs.
Loren (Gail) Thompson of Pekin, Il.’ one sister, Mrs. Anton (Amelia) Cepak, of
Oak Brook, Il.; and six grandchildren.
