Schmidt, June Leona (9 July 1977)
Miss June Leona Schmidt became the bride of Roger Dale Erickson in a 1:30 p.m.
ceremony performed
Saturday, July 9, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal by the Rev. Chester
Osowski. The Loyal American Legion Hall was the setting later for a reception,
dinner and dance. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Henry O. Schmidt, Rt. 2
Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace E. Erickson, Rt. 1 Neillsville.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a floor length bridal
gown of silk organza and Venise lace featuring a high neckline and ruffled,
flounced skirt sweeping into a chapel train. Her Venise lace edged veil was
caught by a Juliet cap. Pink roses and rainbow carnations with white daisies and
baby’s breath formed her colonial bouquet.
Bridal attendants were Jill Grossbier, Green Bay, as matron of honor and Miss
Cheryl Erickson of Neillsville, Miss Jean Schmidt of Greenville, S.C., Mrs. Jana
Snyder of White Deer, Pa., and Mrs. Diana Schmidt of Loyal as bridesmaids. Their
ruffled, flounced gowns of sheer organza in rainbow shades of pink, blue, green,
lavender and yellow respectively, were complimented by matching pitcher hats.
They carried colonial bouquets of rainbow-hued daisies and carnations with
baby’s breath.
The groom was attended by Evan Erickson, Neillsville, as bestman, and by Ralph
Schmidt of Granton, Don Kotcon of Neillsville, Allan Boon of Neillsville and
Jerry Schmidt of Loyal as groomsmen. Ushering duties were shared by Jack Schmidt
of Loyal, Harold Grossbier of Green Bay and Mike True of Clintonville.
The new Mrs. Erickson, a 1972 graduate of Loyal High School is employed by a
Spencer firm. Her husband graduated from Neillsville High School in 1972 and
from the Marshfield Technical Institute in 1974. He is engaged in farming.
Following their return from a wedding trip to St. Louis, Mo., the couple will
live on Rt. 1 Neillsville.
