This year another successful farm appreciation night was held Thursday evening
at the Withee Lions Park, when a large crowd gathered to enjoy the hospitality
of the Owen-Withee Chamber of Commerce. Ten cent beer, free crackers and cheese,
grilled hamburger, bratwurst and hot dogs, plus entertainment by Wally’s Music
Aires, were all part of the thank you to the area shoppers for their patronage
shown during the past year.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of an engraved plaque and a
gift to an outstanding farm family from the Owen-Withee area.
This year Mr. and Mrs. Dick Laube, who operate a dairy and beef farm one-half
mile south of Owen were the recipients.
Mr. and Mrs. Laube have four sons ages seven through twenty that help with the
family work of operating their approximate 320 acre farm.
