Miss Susan Diane Mahoney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Mahoney Jr., Owen, was
given in marriage by her father on June 5, 1976 to Kirby Wayne Klabon, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Klabon, Withee. The 3 p.m. nuptial Mass was performed by Rev.
Richard L. Fliss, pastor of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. The Rev. Douglas
R. Groenewold, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Withee, also bestowed his
blessing on the couple, The organist for the occasion was Sister Jean Conzemius,
Stevens Point, and the vocalist was Miss Diane Johnson, Curtiss.
Dinner was served at the church following the ceremony, and a reception and
dance were held at 8 p.m. at the Meadowview Country Club, Owen.
The bride’s polyester satin sheen A-line gown with long French lace sleeves was
fashioned by the groom’s sister, Kay Conzemius. Her lace veil and long train
were bordered with blue flowered lace. Her cascading bouquet was three orchids
and stephanotis.
Bridal attendants were Miss Colleen Mahoney, Owen, maid of honor, and Miss Cindy
Mohr, Owen, Miss Lynn Pabich, Eau Claire, Mrs. Kim Frederickson, Storm Lake,
Iowa, and Miss Linda Campbell, St. Francis, bridesmaids. They donned apricot
colored halter dresses featuring a multi-colored pastel bodice and sheer apricot
capelet. Each wore a single carnation in her hair and carried a bouquet of
matching multi-colored pastel tinted carnations and baby’s breath.
Attending the groom were Randy Phillips, Webster, S.D., best man, and Mark
Klabon, Larry Klabon and Richard Koplitz, all of Withee, and Ken Klabon, North
Lake, Ill., groomsmen. Ushering duties were shared by Kevin (?), Menomonie,
Wis., and Brian Mahoney of Owen.
The bride graduated in 1973 from Owen-Withee High School and was a junior at the
University of Wisconsin, Stout. She plans to continue her education at South
Colorado University. The groom a 1972 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, is
stationed with the U.S. Army at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The couple will honeymoon in the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park
enroute to their new home in Colorado Springs.
