Saturday, June 5, 1976 was the day chosen by Bonita Coenen and Robert Gillespie
to exchange their wedding vows. The ceremony took place at St. Aloysius, Sauk
City, Wis., with Father Gillespie, Portland, Oregon, uncle of the groom,
officiating.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Coenen, wore a Quiana knit bridal gown
trimmed with daisy medallions. Her fingertip veil was edged in daisy swirls. She
was attended by her sister, Linda, as matron of Honor. Sue Garbett and Mary Jans,
friends of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns of apricot knit. Kris
and Kelly Kizer, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Their long dresses were
of floral apricot and white knit.
Peter Gillespie was his brother’s best man. They are the sons of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Gillespie, Evanston, Ill. Groomsmen were Rick Gaul, Carbondale,
Ill., and Bob Weiland, Evanston, Ill.
Guests were seated by ushers Mike Wheeler, Chicago, Ill., and Steve Pomeroy,
Marquette, Michigan.
A reception was held at the Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
Bonita is an art instructor in the Owen-Withee schools. Her husband is a recent
graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.
