Grambsch, Mary (8 July 1977)

The Loyal United Methodist Church was the setting for the July 8 exchange of wedding vows between Mary Grambsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Grambsch, Rt. 1 Loyal, and Kevin Klimpke of Greenwood. He is the son of Mrs. Winifred Klimpke of Greenwood and Clarence Klimpke of Colby. The Rev. Charles Sanford officiated at the 4 p.m. candlelight ceremony, which was followed by a 5:30 dinner and reception at the home of the bride’s parents and an 8:30 dance at the Village Plaza in Spencer.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a gown of white silk organza trimmed throughout the bodice and sleeved with Venise lace and seed pearls and with lace and pearl appliques on the skirt. The chapel length train was accented with a satin ribbon at the waistline. Her complementing veil, held by a Camelot headpiece, was also trimmed with Venise lace. White daisies, green roses, baby’s breath and ferns formed her bouquet.

Miss Karen Cook, Loyal, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Susan Clintsman, Loyal, and Mrs. Tracy Mews, Spencer. Miss Gretchen Anderson, Minneapolis, Mn., was the junior bridesmaid. Their green floral print polyester violet gowns featured cape sleeves and were complimented by white picture hats with ribbons matching the dresses. They carried long-stemmed yellow roses.

The groom was attended by Arvin Verhulst, Loyal, as bestman and by David Clintsman, Loyal, and Tracy Mews, Spencer, as groomsmen. Serving as junior groomsman was Kenny Klimpke, Dorchester. Ushering duties were shared by Brad Zepplin and Randy Cook. Shawn Podevels, Colby, was the ringbearer.

Flower girls, heather Grambsch, Loyal, and Alison Anderson, Minneapolis, Mn., wore dresses and hats identical to those of the other bridal attendants, and carried baskets of daisies.

Mrs. Byron Zepplin was the organist.

The bride was honored at two prenuptial showers, one given at the home of the maid of honor, by her and the bridesmaids; and the other an all-church shower hosted by Mrs. Byron Zepplin, Mrs. Dorothy Prior, Mrs. Celon Gotter and Mrs. Lena Erickson. A rehearsal party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Byron Zepplin at their home Thursday evening, July 7.

The new Mrs. Klimpke is a 1976 graduate of Loyal High School and a March 1977, graduate of North Central Technical Institute-Wausau. Her husband, who graduated from Greenwood High School in 1976, is employed by a Spencer manufacturing firm. Following from their return from a wedding trip to Chocolate World at Hershey, Pa., the newlyweds are living at Willow Court, Spencer.
