Wnukowski, Joseph (13 Mar 1886 – 30 Jun 1976)
Joseph Wnukowski, 90, Route 1, Withee, died at Victory Memorial Hospital in
Stanley at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First United Church of Christ at
Owen, with burial in the Withee Riverside Cemetery. Officiating was Donald
Stats.
Mr. Wnukowski was born March 13, 1886 in Chicago, and married the former Minnie
Garnowski (her obits says Gorowski) at Chicago on September 5, 1908. He attended
Lane Technical School in Chicago and worked for Western Electric as an
electrician until 1963, when he came to a farm in the Town of Reseburg. He
farmed until 1967, and in 1973 he entered Victory Memorial Nursing Home.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
His wife preceded him in death on May 10, 1969.
Survivors include two sons, Charles, Cadott, and George, Eau Claire; two
brothers, William and James, both of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Five sisters preceded him in death.
