Zion American Lutheran (Englestad Leaving – 8 August 1977)
The Rev. Stephen Engelstad, pastor of Zion American Lutheran churches in the
Towns of Grant and Pine Valley for approximately the past two and one-half
years, has accepted a call to a church in southeastern Wisconsin. He came to the
area churches as a Luther seminary graduate.
Pastor Englestad will deliver his last sermons to the Zion Congregations on
Sunday, August 7, and he and his family will leave Monday for West Bend. There,
he will serve as associate pastor of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, together with
the Rev. Larry Kocha.
The Engelstad family includes the pastor’s wife, Gayle, and two daughters,
Sarah, two, and Elizabeth, six months.
The Zion congregations have met to send a letter of call to a new pastor.
