Seelow, Arthur William (- 15 August 1977)
A Neillsville native, Arthur William Seelow, 73, 1722 Chapman Ave., Beloit, died
Monday morning, August 15, at Beloit Memorial Hospital following an automobile
accident. Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) morning at 10:30 at
Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer, Cranston Rd. Chapel in Beloit, and a Requiem High Mass
will be offered at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church with
Fr. John Urban, pastor, and Fr. Carmelo Fonseca of H. Matamoros Tamps., Mexico,
officiating.
Friends could call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the rosary
was to be recited at 7 p.m.
A Beloit resident since 1942, William Seelow was born September 3, 1903, in
Neillsville to William G. and Martha M. Ott Seelow. His marriage to the former
Anna Elizabeth Casey took place June 9, 1930, in Nekoosa. He was employed at the
Fairbanks and Morse company in Beloit for 28 years, retiring in 1970. He was a
charter member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, where he served as
an usher and was member of the former Holy Name Society. He was also a member of
the Latin-American mission program and worked in the missions of Matamoros,
Mexico, during Christmas of 1906.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three sons, William J., Bremerton,
Wa., Edward I., of Milwaukee and Arthur G., at home; three daughters, Mrs. Carl
(Jean) Watson of Capron, Il.; and Mrs. Kathryn Elliott and Mrs. Claude
(Lynnette) Ramquist, both of Beloit; and 18 grandchildren and one
great-grandson. He is further survived by two brothers, Paul Seelow of
Neillsville and Louis Seelow of Chaseburg: and by two sisters, Mrs. Herbert
(Leona) Henning and Mrs. William (Velda) Hagen, both of Neillsville.
He was predeceased by his parents and four brothers, Edward, Herbert, Albert and
Arnold.
