Lightning strikes again! At 7:15 on Monday morning, July 19, 1976, the
Owen-Withee Fire Department was called to the vacant house on the Harold Laube
property when it was struck by Lightning. The house, located five miles south on
, 1 miles east and ½ mile north, was formerly the Dave Churkey farm, and unused
since Laube purchased the farm land. When the fire department arrived at the
scene the house was almost completely burned to the ground.
