Jaks, Rita Marie (6 August 1977)
Mr. and Mrs. David A. Plechacek, who were married August 6, at St. Bernard’s
Catholic Church in Thorp, will live at Ramstein AFB in Germany. The Rev. John
Puerner officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony for the former Miss Rita Marie Jaks,
daughter of Frances T. Jaks of Thorp and Steve Jaks of Rt. 2 Thorp, and the son
of Anton and Ruth Plechacek of Rt. 1 Thorp.
The bride’s gown of oyster white cotton organza featured an apron of French lace
with a double ruffle hemline, a scoop neckline trimmed in French lace, full lace
sleeves and a bow-tie back. She carried a small colonial bouquet of pink
sweetheart roses with off-white carnations and baby’s breath accented by
asparagus fern and ribbons as she was presented in marriage by her father.
Rita Ann Plechacek, sister of the groom, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Betty Jaks, sister of the bride, and Lori Wincek of Osseo, niece of the bride.
Their pink polyester interlock knit princess-style gowns were topped by
patterned jackets of pink daisies on a white background. The bridal attendants
and the flower girl, Carol Plechacek, sister of the groom, caried small
natural-hued wicker baskets of miniature pink and white carnations and baby’s
breath.
The groom chose his best friend Lavern Palms of Milwaukee to serve as bestman.
Groomsmen were Brian Sondgeroth of Elk Mound, friend of the couple, and Paul
Plechacek, brother of the groom. Jimmy Dircks of Stanley, brother-in-law of the
bride, and Ray Lisy, the groom’s cousin from Morris, Il., shared ushering.
Charlie Wincek, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.
After a reception at the Quonset Hall in Thorp, the newlyweds left on a
honeymoon camping trip to Northern Wisconsin. The groom is in military service
with the U.S. Air Force.
