Close friends and relatives gathered in a circle to witness the wedding of
Catherine Ann River to Steven Mark Tesmer, Saturday, August 7. With the Rev.
Gale Wolf officiating, the ceremony was held in the garden of Mr. and Mrs. Ole
Aspen, the groom’s maternal grandparents. Nancy Potter read a part of the
service, piano music was furnished by Robert Wall and a vocal selection was
presented by Pam Kessler.
As the bride approached the circle with her mother, Mrs. Renee River,
Marshfield, and her grandfather, Dr. Louis River, Oak Park, Illinois, who
presented her in marriage; she was dressed in a Grecian style gown of beige
crepe. She woe a circle of baby’s breath in her hair and carried a nosegay of
white roses. The groom was accompanied by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Milford
Tesmer.
Bridal attendants included Miss Julie Hanson as maid of honor, Carol
Kuchenbecker as flower girl, Cindy Hendreson, Patricia Brey, Linda River, Geri
River, Mary Alice Schield and Jan Tesmer as bridesmaids.
The groom was attended by Jack Harvey as bestman, Gerren River as ringbearer,
Jeff River, Paul Tesmer, Dan Tesmer, Lyle Burmeister, Robert River, and Wayne
Schlegelmilch as groomsmen.
A reception, dinner and dance was held at the American Legion Hall following the
ceremony.
The newlyweds are both graduates of Neillsville High School, he in 1971 and she
in 1974. They will both be attending UW-Eau Claire this fall. After a honeymoon
in Northern Wisconsin, they will be living at 712 1/2 Hobert Street in Eau
Claire.
