Henry M. Wollum, a distinguished retired Owen businessman, will celebrate his
91st birthday on Wednesday, August 4, 1976. Mr. Wollum moved to Owen in 1915
from Eau Claire and became manager of the E.J. Faudreil Canning Company. He
remained in the canning business in Owen until 1956, when the business was no
longer profitable and it closed.
Mr. Wollum established himself as a highly respected businessman, was a charter
member of the Masons, the Meadowview Country Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
He curtly resides at 303 East Second Street and is enjoying good health. He
spends much of his time reading, and is currently a member of the 3 o’clock
Coffee Clutch, which meets at the 11th Frame each Monday through Friday.
Mr. Wollum was married to the former Hazel Brown of Withee, who died in 1971.
The couple had three children, Bill, with Cranberry Products in Eagle River,
Henry Marvin, in the insurance business at York, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. John
(Judy) Sabol, Itasca, Ill. He has nine grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
