Teresa Leigh Gunderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gunderson, Eau Claire, and John Toivo Kallio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Toivo Kallio, Owen, were given in marriage by their parents during a 2 p.m. ceremony July 10, 1976 at Bethel Church in Eau Claire. Officiating were the Rev. Philip Palser, Eau Claire, and the Rev. Warren Heckman, Madison.

The A-line bridal gown was fashioned with lace, and her lace covered Camelot headpiece secured a fingertip veil and a floor length train edged with lace. Her bouquet contained gardenias and yellow roses.

Serving as maid of honor was Miss Mary Moberg of Eau Claire. Bridesmaids were Miss Ann Gunderson, Nashville; Miss Jocelyn Gunderson, Minneapolis; Miss Deborah Kallio, Owen, and Miss Gayle Gunderson, Eau Claire. They wore mint green crepe gowns trimmed with lace and white straw wide-brimmed hats. Each carried a single rose and white baby’s breath.

The groom was attired in a white cutaway Charleston tuxedo with tails. He was attended by Stven Coleman of Madison as best man. Groomsmen were Ronald Kallio of Menomonie, Daniel Kallio of Barron, Kent Dallmeyer of Washington, Iowa, and Gary Chard of Madison. They were all attired in brown tuxedos with yellow rose boutonnieres. The fathers wore tuxedos identical to the groomsmen.

The bride’s mother wore a peach colored gown and the groom’s mother wore an oyster colored gown. Their corsages were of yellow roses.

Mrs. Merle Freiheit at the organ played the Processional, Handel’s “Xerxes” and the Recessional, “My Tribute”. The vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Ron Karow and Miss Julie Karow of Madison sang “All My Life, “God, A woman and a Man:, and “Gentle Shepherd.”

A reception in the church parlors followed the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Mackinac Island, the couple will reside at 1912 Valmont Avenue in Eau Claire, where the groom, a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and the Madison School of Nursing, is a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit at Sacred heart Hospital, and the bride, a graduate of North High School in Eau Claire, is continuing her education and the University.
