Marshfield Medical Center (MMC)-Neillsville has opened the doors of its 100,000
square-foot medical campus nearly two years after first breaking ground. The
campus opened to patient care on Saturday, May 8.
The medical campus on the corner of Highway 10 and River Avenue west of
Neillsville features a 16-bed hospital, 24/7 emergency department, an operating
room, 28 clinical exam rooms, rooms designated for telehealth consults and an
infusion suite with six private rooms to provide IV treatments, including
chemotherapy.
Neillsville has been served by a hospital for more than 70 years, including the
past 67 in the same building.
“Marshfield Clinic Health System showed its dedication to the Neillsville
community when they acquired the hospital in 2018 and supported the existing
efforts to build a new hospital,” said MMC-Neillsville chief administrative
officer Ryan Neville. “This new medical campus will provide care for the next
several generations in our community backed by the expertise of the health
system’s nearly 90 medical specialties.”
In addition to current oncology, cardiology, endocrinology and
ear-nose-and-throat services, more specialties will be added in Neillsville
including neurology, pediatric neurology, sleep medicine, obstetrics and
gynecology, and ophthalmology. There will also be technological upgrades that
improve telehealth services that come to Neillsville from the main medical
campus in Marshfield.
The medical campus also will be home to an expanded therapy department as well
with a dedicated occupational health space, a public eatery promoting health
eating, as expanded gift shop and more.
“Community support for the medical campus was key to providing excellent care
closer to Neillsville,” wrote John Gardner of Marshfield Clinic Health System in
a May 8 press release.
A $1.75 million capital campaign helped fund the infusion suite as well as a
3,000 square-foot wellness center overseen by Marshfield Clinic Health System
YMCA in Marshfield. The Wuethrich family and their business, Grassland Dairy
Products, gave a $300,000 gift, the largest donation to the campaign.
“The Grassland Dairy and Wuethrich Family gift and the many other contributions
to the capital campaign exemplify the strength and commitment of the Clark
County community and beyond and we are truly grateful for their generous
support,” said Teri Wilczek, chief philanthropy officer, Marshfield Clinic
Health System Foundation. “Seeing so many people come together with a shared
vision to build the future of health and wellness close to home was inspiring,
especially through the past year. The capital campaign committee’s dedication to
this project was so admirable; we ae truly grateful for their support.”
