Modersohn, Tillie Ann (21 February 1898 – 26 September 1977)

Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30 from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Tillie Ann Modersohn, 79, Rt. 3 Neillsville, who died Monday, September 26, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, in Marshfield following a lingering illness. The Rev. Ralph Stuebs of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate, and burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Globe. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday and this (Thursday) morning until time of services.

Mrs. Modersohn was born February 21, 1898, in the Town of Hendren to William and Amelia Krieg Kuenkel. She attended schools in Clark County and moved to Ladysmith to work after completing her education. In 1926 she returned to Clark County and farmed in the Town of Hendren for the remainder of her lifetime.

Her marriage to Ernest Modersohn took place April 11, 1920, in Ladysmith. Mr. Modersohn preceded his wife in death, as did two sisters and three brothers.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. Louis (Dorothy) Ritter of Stanley and Helen Modersohn and Erville Modersohn, both of Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Selma Wegner and Mrs. Fred (Olga) Marg and one brother, Paul Kuenkel all of Neillsville. She is also survived by two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Modersohn, Tillie Ann (21 February 1898 – 26 September 1977)

Funeral services were held September 29 at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Tillie A. Modersohn, 19, of Neillsville who died September 26 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield following a lingering illness. The Rev. Ralph Stuebs of Immanuel Lutheran Church officiated, and burial followed in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Globe. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Clarence Wegner, Wayne Wegner, Marvin Marg, Alfred Kuenkel, Tony Ulesich and Jim Korn.

Mrs. Janice Mayer sang “I’m But a Stranger here” and “What a Friend.” The accompanist was Mrs. Karen Hoppa.
