Miss Sara Anne Gajewsky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Gajewsky, Route 2, Owen,
was given in marriage by her father to Kevin M. Thorson, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Thorson of Owen, on August 14, 1976.
The 4 p.m. ecumenical ceremony was performed in Nazareth Lutheran Church,
Withee, by the pastor, the Rev. Lloyd Yaggie, and by the Rev. Richard L. Fliss,
pastor of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. Singers were Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Wyott of Trempealeau.
The bride wore an ivory satin gown in empire/A-line styling, and a Juliet style
cap covered with lace, to which was affixed a tulle and ivory lace veil. Her
flowers were yellow, gold and red chrysanthemums, pin daisies and lavender
baby’s breath.
In the wedding party were Mrs. Lori Scharer, matron of honor; Miss Barb Graham
and Miss Judy Greschner, bridesmaids; Jeff Laube, best man; Ken Galarowicz and
Bob Gajewsky, groomsmen, and Floyd Olson and Konrad Thorson, Wausau, as ushers.
The bridal aides donned mint green crepe floor length dresses and matching
picture hats. Each had a large chrysanthemum surrounded by greenery and ribbon.
The matron f honor’s gold, the bridesmaids’, yellow.
The buffet supper was served at 5 p.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Hall; the reception
took place at the American Legion Hall, Owen, where the dance also was held,
beginning at 8 o’clock.
Owen is the home of the newlyweds. Mrs. Thorson graduated last year from high
school and attended the University for a year at UW-Stout, and the Medford UW
Center. He husband is also a 1975 graduate of Owen-Withee High School.
