St. Paul, Minn. – Teresa Bepell, Louis and Otto Guester and Anna, wife of the
latter, have been arrested in Neillsville, Wisconsin for the murder of Jacob
Bepell, husband of Teresa Bepell. She told the story of the murder, stating they
had a quarrel at the landing near their home. He struck her, when she shot him
and dragged his dead body some distance, hiding it behind a log and covering it
with snow, where it was found.
She was held for trial and the Guesters were held for witnesses. An examination
of the body showed that four bullets had been fired into the body, three
evidently having been fired into his back after he had fallen to the ground.
