Schuster, Gordon Henry (10 March 1931 – 14 May 2021) With Flag

Gordon Henry Schuster, age 90, of Marshfield, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Gordie was born on March 10, 1931 the son of Joseph and Caroline (Beyerl) Schuster in Colby. He attended Saint Mary School and later graduated from Colby High School in 1949. Gordie proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Alaska. He also attended the Never Forgotten Honor Flight May 13, 2013 and has a plaque at the Highground Veterans Memorial in Neillsville. On May 31, 1958, Gordie was united in marriage to the love of his life, Eldora Gutenberger, in Colby.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years, as well as being a member of both the Knights of Columbus and the Colby VFW. Gordie had an avid love of travel and interest in old cars. Gordie worked for many years as an auto mechanic for area garages, and later was the proud owner of Gordie’s Sales and Service for 24 years.

Gordie is survived by his loving wife: Eldora; children: Randy (Tjwana) Schuster, Rick (Sharon) Schuster, Russ (Cathy) Schuster, and Renee Schuster-Tolppi; his grandchildren: Cody, Quinn, Molly, Ryan, Isabelle, Brett, Brannon, Bryce Schuster, and Sydney, and Taylor Tolppi. He will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Caroline; as well as many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Father James Weighner will officiate. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Friday. Burial will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery immediately following the services.
