Miss Betsy Jill Jens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Les Jens, Owen, became the bride
of Clifford Robert Kahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kahl, River Falls, on
August 28, 1976.
The 4:00 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Loren Swanson in the United
Church of Christ at Owen.
The bride, escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father, was seen
in a gown of giana knit fashioned with lace appliques and a cathedral train.
With it she wore a matching full length veil of illusion with a Camelot
headpiece. She carried long stemmed roses of red, white and pink. Mrs. Terry
Doberstein, sister of the bride, was her matron of honor. She wore a formal knit
dress in a mauve color and carried a simple red rose. The bridesmaids, Miss
Dianne Rohey of Bloomer and Miss Linda Pavliwick, Manitowoc, were dressed in
burgundy knit and carried a single long stem pink rose. Jr. bridesmaid, Heidi
Doberstein, and flower girls Dana Doberstein and Jody Jens, were dressed in
mauve knit.
Providing the music for the occasion were Miss Tammy Wagner at the organ and
Miss Dianne Johnson, soloist.
Serving as best man was Bruce Smith of Bloomer. Groomsmen were Milo Fessen,
Wisconsin Rapids and Brad Foster, River Falls. Doing usher duties were Jeff Jens
and Tim Meyer.
Dinner and reception were held at the Meadowview Country Club in Owen.
The bride, a graduate of Owen High School and of the Taylor County Teachers
College, has been teaching in the New Auburn School for the past several years.
She will now be employed in Jackson, Minnesota.
The groom is a graduate of River Falls College and also received a Master’s
Degree there in Agriculture. He also taught in the New Auburn School, but is now
employed at the Vocational Institute at Jackson, Minnesota. The couple is at
home at 109 Ave. B in Jackson, Minnesota.
