Faul, Ron (New Business - 1986)

Ron Faul opened Major Appliance Service this week in Neillsville. Ron and his wife presently live in Wisconsin Rapids and will be moving to Neillsville as soon as they sell their home. Ron has been a service technician for over fifteen years. His shop is located in the basement of Kirkwood’s.

Kitzhaber, Peter (Spelling Bee - 1986)

Peter Kitzhaber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kitzhaber, Rt. 3 Greenwood will represent the Greenwood Public Schools at the CESA 10 Spelling Bee Contest in Eau Claire on March 18.

Peter is a seventh grader in Ms. Joyce Kreiner’s English class.

Serving as alternate is Eric Janssen, son of Dr. and Mrs. Gary Janssen, Rt. 1 Greenwood. His teacher is Mrs. Bonnie Weyer.

Winner of the CESA 10 regional contest will compete on the state level, in Madison, later in the spring.

Sternitzky, Stephen C. (Who’s Who - 1986)

Stephen C. Sternitzky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Sternitzky, 409 E. Division Street, Neillsville, is among 11 Pacific University College of Optometry students who have been named for listing in the latest issue of “Who’s Who Among American University and College Students.”

Sternitzky is a third year student in the Pacific College of Optometry.

The students are selected by the editors after being nominated by a local committee. Selection is based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extra-curricular activities and potential for continued success.

Zickert, Tammy—Crowned Miss Neillsville (1986)

Tammy Zickert was crowned the new Miss Neillsville for 1986-87 during the Winter Carnival Dance this past Saturday evening.

Runners-up included Christine Vysoky, Terrie Dyer, Janel Barth and Christine Sydorowicz.

The retiring Miss Neillsville, Lisa Strack, placed the crown upon Zickert during a ceremony at the Silver Dome Ballroom. Zickert, 16, is the daughter of Ron and Mary Ann Zickert, Rt. 4 Neillsville. She was selected for the honor from a field of 28 candidates, all Neillsville High School Juniors.

Zickert was sponsored by the Neillsville Rotary Club. Her escort for the evening was Lenny Mesar.

Sunburst Youth Homes (New Staff - 1986)

Neil Armitage and Stephanie S. Scheidegger have joined the staff at Sunburst Youth Homes of Neillsville, it was recently announced. Armitage was named the director of personnel while Scheidegger was appointed social services coordinator.

Armitage graduated from Neillsville High School in 1971 and attained an Associate Degree in 1978 after attending the campuses at La Crosse and Marshfield. He has also attended numerous UW classes related to personnel work.

From June of 1984 until this past February Armitage was the training coordinator for the West Central Private Industry Council, supervising programs in both Clark and Chippewa Counties. From 1983 until the present he also served as the Clark County Affirmative Action officer and Equal Employment officer, assisting the county board with personnel policies and hiring. From may of 1979 until May of 1984 Armitage directed all employment and training activities for Clark County as director of the County Division of Employment and Training.

In his new post Armitage is charged with administration of all current personnel policy including employee benefits (analyzing changing needs and costs), personnel file maintenance and updating and reviewing of personnel manner and job descriptions.

Armitage is also responsible for payroll administration, recruitment of agency personnel and acting as a liaison between staff, supervisors and members of the Sunburst Board of Directors.

Armitage and his wife, Corrine, reside in Neillsville. They have three children, Justin, Ben and Stacey.

Scheidegger’s responsibilities include supervision and development of the Sunburst Social Services Program. This includes coordinating a new Clark County Services Program which provides in-home services for area residents.

Scheidegger graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, in May of 1973 with a Bachelor’s of Psychology degree with a concentration in child development. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stout in May of 1979.

Previously she was employed as a field representative for the West Central Private Industry Council in Eau Claire County. Scheidegger also worked as a marriage and family therapist at the Badlands Human Service Center in Dickinson, North Dakota.

Professional organizations to which Scheidegger belongs include the Upper Midwest Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists and the National Council on Family Relations.

Scheidegger and her husband reside in Eau Claire.

Wickersham Jewelry (Grand Prize Award - 1986)

Wickersham Jewelry of Neillsville was the grand prize winner in a window display contest sponsored by the ArtCarved Class Rings Company. The ring company conducted a national window display photo contest asking jewelry stores to decorate a window, suing class rings as its theme. Jewelry stores throughout the country completed and out of many hundreds of entries, Wickersham’s won first prize. Jerry Otto, marketing representative for ArtCarved, presented the $300 first place award to Sally Kirch, local store manager. Wickersham also has stores in Abbotsford and Marshfield.
