Langiewicz, Alexander Sr. (22 Dec 1894 – 17 Sep 1976)
Alexander Langiewicz Sr., Route 2, Withee, died of an apparent heart attack at
11 a.m. Friday, September 17, 1976 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roger
Frese, Route 2, Withee.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church, Owen, with the Rev. Richard L. Fliss, pastor, officiating.
Burial was in the Thorp Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Donald Ramberg, Russell Rode, Steve Lato, William Peterson,
Harold Harder and Howard Rixford.
He was born December 22, 1894 at Warsaw, N.Y., and was married to Eva Rogalski
January 14, 1919, at Thorp. She died July 21, 1957. He moved to the Thorp area
at the age of four and had farmed in the Thorp and Withee areas all of his life.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Donald (Doris) Ramberg of Withee, Mrs.
Stephen (Leona) Lato, Stanley, Mrs. Russell (Clarice) Rode, With, Mrs. Harold
(Henrietta) Harder, Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Hoard (Eve) Rixford, Sheboygan
Falls, Mrs. William (Audrey) Peterson, Boyd, and Mrs. Roger (Joan) Frese, Route
2, Withee; four sons, Valentine Langiewicz of Withee, Alexander Langiewicz Jr.,
Minneapolis, Richard Langiewicz of Stanley, and Adam Langiewicz of Fairchild;
one sister, Mrs. Sophie Stevens, Minneapolis, Minn.; 54 grandchildren, 19
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, and three sisters.
