Smith, Albert E. (30 Jan 1898 – 23 Sep 1976)
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s American Lutheran Church in
Curtiss for Albert E. Smith, 78, Route 1, Holcombe, formerly of Curtiss. He died
of an apparent heart attack Thursday at his home.
The Rev. Roger Tellock, pastor, officiated. Burial was made in Pine Hill
Cemetery, Curtiss.
Mr. Smith was born January 30, 1898 in Fond du Lac County and married the former
Angeline Burtard, who died in January 1955. They had lived in the Curtiss area,
where Mr. Smith did carpenter work. He moved to Holcombe in 1967.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Arlun (Loretta) Harris, Chippewa Falls,
Mrs. Karl (Delores) Richter, Wind Lake, and Miss Barbara Smith, Milwaukee; three
sisters, Mrs. Ben (Evelyn) Kolbeck and Mrs. Della Netto, both of Milwaukee, and
Mrs. Victor (Mae) Beebe, Loveland, Colorado; four brothers, Eldon (Boots),
Marshfield, Frank, Owen, William, Manawa, and Raymond, Big Bend; two
grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter and nine
brothers and sisters.
The family has suggested the memorials be made to the Leukemia Fund.
