Williams, Teckla C. (4 December 1886 – 16 January 1978)
Mrs. Teckla C. Williams, 91, Neillsville Memorial Home, died there on Monday.
She was born December 4, 1886, in Sweden to Swan and Josephine Wendell, she came
to the United States at the age of 7 and settled with her parents in
Pennsylvania, where she received her education. As a young lady, she moved to
Chicago where she was a seamstress for several years. On December 21, 1904, she
married Arthur E. Williams, in Chicago.
After her marriage, the couple moved to Clark County where they farmed in the
Town of Levis for few years before moving to the Town of Washburn where they
farmed for many years. After the death of her husband in 1954, Mrs. Williams
continued to live on the farm. She was a resident of the Memorial Home in
Neillsville, the past three years due to failing health. Mrs. Williams was a
member of the Cannonville Ladies Aid.
She is survived by one son, Oliver, of Granton; one daughter, Mrs. Albert
(Mildred) Zank, of Chippewa Falls; seven grandchildren and fourteen
great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter (Grace), three sisters and
two brothers.
Funeral services were to have been held January 18, at 11:00 a.m. at the
Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with Rev. William Noble officiating. Burial was to
be at Mr. Olive Cemetery, Chicago, with graveside services at 2:30 p.m.

Williams, Teckla (4 December 1886 – 16 January 1978)
A resident of Neillsville and the Town of Levis and Washburn for 68 years, Mrs.
Arthur (Teckla) Williams, was buried in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Chicago
after passing away January 16 in Neillsville.
In the January 18 funeral services from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home,
Neillsville, with the Rev. William Noble, of the Neillsville and Granton United
Methodist Churches officiated. Mary and Donna Chase sang “In The Garden” and
“How Great Thou Art,” accompanied by Mrs. Iris Musil.
Pallbearers at the funeral were all grandsons of Mrs. Williams, including Roger
Williams, Wendell Williams, Marvin Williams, Marvin Draves, Jerry Zank, Richard
Gallagher and Nathon VandeBerg.
Committal services in the Chicago area were completed with the Rev. George
Wright, Irving Park United Methodist Church, officiating with burial on the
afternoon of January 19.
Those attending the funeral included Mr./Mrs. Oliver Williams, and Mr./Mrs.
Wendell Williams, Granton; Mr./Mrs. Albert H. Zank, Chippewa Falls; Mr./Mrs.
Jerry Zank, Elgin, Il.; Mrs. Richard Gallagher, Farmington, N.M.; Mr./Mrs. Roger
Williams, Williams Bay; Mr./Mrs. Nathon VandeBerg, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr./Mrs.
Marvin Draves, Kewaskum; Mrs. Marvin Williams, Amery; Jim Kapfer and Mrs. Ethel
Henne, of West Bend; and numerous other friends and relatives from the area.
