A very happy occasion, the celebration of Mrs. Charles Knaack’s 86th birthday
anniversary was observed last week with relatives and friends. Her birthday
being on Sunday, October 31, 1976, was celebrated last Thursday with an
afternoon luncheon. Joining her for the occasion were Mrs. Edward Thorson,
Minneapolis, Mrs. Donald Mills of White Bear Lake, Minn., Mrs. Mable
Christensen, Stanley, Mrs. Rosemary Chris, Abbotsford, Mrs. Delores Hammel,
Athens, Mrs. Betty Bolker, Thorp, and local friends, Mrs. Bertha Combs, Mrs.
Anna Sorenson, Mrs. May Mrotek, Mrs. Ella Bangle, Lenore Welker, and Mrs. Gene
Mertens.
The on Sunday relatives coming for a dinner birthday celebration were Mr. and
Mrs. Rudy Knaack, Hayward, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thorson, Minneapolis, Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Mertens, son John and Mack, Withee, Charles Knaack Jr. and Lenore
Welker.
On Saturday her great-granddaughter, Michelle, and Dianne Welker of Wausau
called on her, and she had many phone calls from grandchildren. Lynn Mertens
called from Eau Claire wishing her birthday cheers. Gerald Knaack phoned from
North Carolina, Galen from Minot, North Dakota, Nancy Morgan from Minneapolis,
and Jerome Thorson from Neenah. Also Donald Knaack, her son, phoned her from
Madison.
