St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mequon, Wisconsin was the setting for the private wedding ceremony performed by Rev. Reginald Pope, of Miss Charlene Kay Hansen and Dennis F. Poppe on September 25, 1976.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long white two-piece jersey gown with a white hat, and carried a colonial bouquet of red, white and blue. Sister of the bride, as matron of honor, Mrs. Carole, Buss, Withee, Wisconsin, wore a navy blue gown with a white hat. Flower girl was Miss Marit Buss, niece of the bride. She wore a solid red floor length gown with a white hat. Best man was Daniel Poppe, Cedarburg, Wisconsin, brother of the groom.

Musical renditions of “O Perfect Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer” were played by Mrs. Carol Lorenzen and sung by Pau Wachholz.

After the ceremony, a reception for the family was held at Boder’s-On-The-River in Mequon.

Miss Hansen is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School, Owen, WI, and the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and is currently employed at the Colonial State Bank, Thiensville, Wis.

Mr. Poppe is a graduate of the Wisconsin Lutheran High School, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and is currently employed at the Colonial State Bank, Thiensville, Wis.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Hansen, Withee, Wis. And Mrs. Marcella Poppe, Cedarburg, Wis., and Mr. Frank Poppe, Milwaukee, Wis.
