Mauel, Susan Mary (23 Oct 1976)
Miss Susan Mary Mauel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mauel Jr., Owen, and John
Glen German, son of Marvin German, Stanley, and Mrs. Dale Ball, Withee, were
married at 4 p.m. October 23, 1976 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, the
Rev. Richard Fliss officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs. William Mahoney, organist, and Miss Billie Turner,
soloist.
As the bride was escorted to the altar by her father, she was seen wearing an
empire gown of organza and Venice lace, with chapel length train. Highlighting
her ensemble was a veiled Camelot headpiece, and she carried a bouquet of white
lilies and stephanotis.
Preceding the bride to the altar were her aides, Miss Linda Mauel of Eau Claire
as maid of honor, and Miss Carol Mauel and Miss Nancy German, both of La Crosse,
and Miss Carol Eloranta, Owen, bridesmaids.
They donned empire styled gowns of rust knit with sheer capes and carried
bouquets of orange, gold and rust chrysanthemums.
The bridegroom was attended by Tom German of Chicago, best man, and Joseph Bauer
of Stanley, Ronald Schoelzel Jr., Colby, and Terry German, Owen, groomsmen.
Ushering duties were shared by John Mauel and Gary German.
The wedding dinner took place in the church parlors, and the reception and dance
were held at Meadowview County Club, Owen.
The bridegroom is employed by Francis Melvin, Stanley.
After a northern Wisconsin honeymoon, the Germans will be at home at 304 E. Oak
Street, Stanley.
