Five Owen area residents are enrolled this fall at UW-Stout. They are: Debra
Doberstein, Noel Gummerson, Sandra Kile, Michael Kowalski and Debbie Stillings.
With an enrollment of approximately 6,000, Stout is a “special mission”
university in the UW System. Founded in 1893, it retains it original primary
mission of preparing men and women for careers emphasizing practical “hands-on”
training, along with the traditional academic education of colleges and
universities. Because of this, the university continues to have a job placement
record of better than 90% for its graduates.
