Schwieso, Mary Carmelita (6 March 1934 – 28 May 2021)

Mary C. Schwieso, 87, of Chili, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield.

Mary Carmelita Fraizer was born on March 6, 1934, in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Thomas R. and Helen M. (DeKraul) Fraizer. She was raised and received her education in Topeka, graduating from Hayden High School in 1953. Mary attended business school before her marriage to Duaine H. Schwieso on September 1, 1956, at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka. Upon marrying a military husband, they traveled and lived in a few places before settling in Wind Lake, to raise their three sons. Mary worked various small jobs. In 1985, they moved to Chili, and made that their permanent home for the last 36 years. She worked for a time at Figi's in Marshfield, and then later at the Marshfield Clinic until her retirement in 1996. After retiring, they traveled the U.S. in their RV, which Mary truly enjoyed. Their biggest RV experience was spending 3 months in Australia and New Zealand. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006 with a large family gathering. She was a fun-loving and kind person and proved to be a resilient wife and mother.

Mary will be dearly missed by her family: husband, Duaine, of Chili; her three sons: Kevin of Wind Lake, Mark (Jennifer) of Macy, IN, Erik (Tammy) of Muskego, three granddaughters: Crystal Schwieso (Pat Brown), Carmen and Abigail Schwieso; step-granddaughter: Heather (Chris) Bory; one great-grandson: Avery Brown; her brother-in-law: Joaquin "Bud" Garcia of Carbondale, KS; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Theresa Garcia; and one brother, Thomas Fraizer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Mary's nieces and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at the church, on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
