Mrs. Rosa Peissig, 71, Shawano, formerly of Dorchester, died Saturday, January
8, 1972 at 8 p.m. at Shawano Hospital, after several months of illness.
Funeral rites were held Tuesday at Peace United Church of Christ, with the Rev.
Milton Petzold in charge of the service.
Burial was in Dorchester Memorial North (Peace) Cemetery, and the Maurina
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The former Rosa Braun, born November 2, 1900 in the Town of Mayville (Clark Co.)
was married at Dorchester to Oscar Peissig November 5, 1917. Farming in Indiana
and Illinois until 1952, they then came to the Town of Deer Creek, Taylor County
and farmed. He died February 8, 1965. Since then she made her home with her son
Kenneth in Shawano. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Kenneth, Shawano; one daughter, Mrs. George (Verna)
Boettner, Dearborn, Michigan; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Carl Braun, Dorchester, and Henry Braun, Geneva, Ill.; one sister,
Mrs. Alvina Henkleman, Merrill.
Two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
