Attorney and Mrs. John J. Nikolay of Abbotsford announce the engagement of their
daughter, Mary, to John Kelley, Oceanside, California. He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Kelley of Cape Coral Florida.
Miss Nikolay is a senior at Stout State University. He fiancé is presently in
the United States Marine Corps.
A summer wedding is being planned.

Miss Mary Nikolay, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Nikolay of Abbotsford, and John
Kelley of Green Bay, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Kelley, Cape Coral, Florida,
were united in marriage Saturday, June 23, 1973 at St. Bernard’s Catholic
Church, Abbotsford.
The 2 p.m. guitar mass was performed by the groom’s brother, Frank Patrick
Kelley of La Crosse. Music was provided by the Cathedral Singers of La Crosse,
and Jane Polnaszek was the organist.
For her wedding day, the bride chose a semi-cathedral trained gown of sheer
organza styled with a molded contour shaped empire bodice, having a halter
neckline and baby doll sleeves, edged with Venice lace, A-line skirt at front,
the back’s fullness extended into the train. Her illusion veil, was secured to a
Camelot headpiece of peau taffeta.
Mrs. Charles Endres was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. William
Lehnertz, sister of the bride, Miss Susie Ridderbusch, and Miss Kathy Roth. The
attendants wore dresses of rose print on sand background Dacron sheer with
V-neck of ruffles, ivory Cluny lace, short puffed sleeves, a double ruffle of
ivory lace centering the back of the dress to the flounce and flared skirts with
ruffle flounce. Each carried a single pink rose.
Dan Bobbe attended the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Paul Klinkhammer, John
Bobbe and Fred Schindler. Dave Nikolay and Dave Gierl were in charge of ushering
duties.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents,
and a dinner was served at St. Bernard’s Church. In the evening a wedding dance
was held at the Owen Country Club.
The new Mrs. Kelley is a University of Wisconsin, Stout graduate, and had been
employed as a kindergarten teacher. Her husband is a graduate of the University
of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and is employed as a salesman.
After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, they will be making their first home
at 1104 13th Avenue, Green Bay.
