Dommer, Carl G. (31 Mar 1879 – 12 Jan 1972)
Carl Gustav Dommer, 92, died Wednesday evening at St. Joseph’s Hospital in
Marshfield. Services conducted by the Rev. David Pankow were held at Zion
Lutheran Church in Colby on Saturday. Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Dommer was born in Germany and came to this country at 11, settling in Minnesota
with his parents. In 1913 he married the former Dora Hann, and the couple was
engaged in farming, moving to this area in 1934. Dommer retired from farming in
1962. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Colby.
Survivors include three children, Leonard, Delphin and Arvin of Colby, and 15
grandchildren.
Besides his wife, a daughter and brother and sister preceded him in death.
