Birkholz, Alfred (5 Aug 1898 – 30 Jan 1972)
Alfred Birkholz, 73, Rt. 1, Medford, was dead on arrival at Memorial hospital in
Medford at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at
Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Mr. Erling Omdal officiated, and burial
was made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Birkholz was born August 5, 1898 in Brown County, Wisconsin. He married
Amber Guth in Medford on March 4, 1925.
Moving to Dorchester with his parents as a boy, he later worked as a cheesemaker
in Omega, Medford and Stetsonville. He started an electrical shop in 1939.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Leon (Arliss) Marcott,
Abbotsford, and Mrs. Neal (Elva) Accola, Pittsville; a sister, Ernest Freitag of
Milwaukee; two brothers, Otto, GFR, Medford, and Theodore, Bethel Convalescent
Home in Arpin; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
