Mrs. Myrtle L. Reis, 91, of Colby, died February 1, 1972 at Wausau Hospital
South. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Colby, with the
Rev. Bervia Scott officiating. Burial was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
The former Myrtle Straub was born in 1880 in the Town of Hull (Marathon Co.). In
1905 she married Charles Reis, and the couple farmed in the Town of Hull for
many years. Mrs. Reis spent the past three years in the Heritage Nursing Home in
Schofield, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Reis was a member of the Methodist Church, charter member of the Ladies
Aid, and a charter member of the Cherokee Homemaker Club, and also a member of
the Roya Neighbors.
She is survived by a daughter, Iola berg, and a son, Dale Reis, both of Colby.
One grandchild and one great-grandchild also survive.
One son in infancy and a brother and sister preceded her in death.
