Seefeldt, Edna M. (4 June 1898 – 12 December 1978)
A cook at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital for nearly 20 years, Mrs. Edna M.
Seefeldt, 80, passed away after a brief illness at the hospital on December 12.
She was born June 4, 1898, in Alden, Ill., to John and Ottilia Hentzein. After
receiving her education there, she worked in her father’s store for several
years. In 1916, she married Charles H. Seefeldt in Alden.
The couple and their family lived in Illinois until 1950 when they moved to the
Neillsville area to farm. She worked as a cook at Memorial Hospital, retiring in
1970.
Surviving Mrs. Seefeldt is one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Betty) Montgomery, Granton;
one son, Charles, also of Granton; one sister Mrs. Catherine Fraase, Harvard,
Ill.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, who passed away in 1962; one son, Jack
and one daugher, Norma Jean.
Methodist funeral services for Mrs. Seefeldt, Rt. 1 Granton, were held last
Saturday afternoon from the Saunders and Hoffman Funeral Home in Harvard, Ill.,
with burial in an Alden cemetery. Local arrangements were handled by the
Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville.
