Wickersham, Louis (17 June 1886 – 11 December 1978)
Louis Wickersham, 91, a former farmer in the Towns of Lynn and Grant, passed
away in Riverside Hospital, Waupaca, Monday evening. He was a resident of the
Veteran’s Home at King, at the time of his death.
Funeral services to be held this Wednesday, December 20, from the Gilbertson
Funeral Home, Granton. The Rev. William Noble, pastor of the Granton United
Methodist Church, was to officiate with burial in the Yolo Cemetery, Town of
Fremont.
Wickersham was born on June 17m 1896 in Stockbridge. After his early education,
he served in the military during World War I. He married Leona Bealer on
December 21, 1921, in Neillsville ceremonies and the couple farmed in the rural
Granton area prior to moving to Marshfield. He had lived in the Veteran’s home
since 1956.
Wickersham is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Schiesel of
Kenosha and Mrs. Donald (Joyce) Diechel of Delavan; three sons, Harold of
Kenosha, Glen of Abbotsford and John of Chili; thirteen grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and two sisters.
