Phillips, Ruth (15 November 1909 - 30 December 1978)
A former Humbird and Neillsville resident, Ruth A. Phillips, 69, passed away in
Madison General Hospital, Saturday, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Phillips was born on November 15, 1909, in Tagus. North Dakota, to Henry
and Caroline (Prescher) Johnson. On May 15, 1929, she married Herbert D.
Phillips in Rockford, Ill., ceremonies.
After living in Humbird and most of her life in Neillsville, she moved to
Janesville, her home until death. She was employed by the Parker Pen Company
from 1946 to 1966.
Surviving her besides her husband is one son, Harold, Janesville; one
grandchild; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews in the Humbird
area.
Funeral services were slated for this Thursday, January 4, at 1:00 p.m. from the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Ralph Walker, Augusta, was to
officiate, with burial in the Town of Mentor Cemetery.
