Second Lieutenant James J. Sterzinger, son of Mrs. Morris M. Sterzinger, Colby,
has been awarded his silver wings at Vance AFB, Oklahoma, upon graduation from
U.S. Air Force pilot training.
Lieutenant Sterzinger is remaining at Vance for duty as a T-38 Talon jet trainer
instructor pilot. He will be in a unit of the Air Training Command which
provides flying, technical and basic military training for U.S. Air Force
personnel.
The Lieutenant, a 1966 graduate of Colby High School, received his B.S. degree
in Physical Education in 1971 from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where
he was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps
program.
His wife, May, is the daughter of Herbert C. Jonson of Marshfield.
