Neuhaus, Erna F. (1887 – 8 Mar 1972)
Mrs. Erna Frieda Neuhaus, 85, formerly of Colby, died March 8, 1972 at Sauk
City, where she had been making her home the past six years with her daughter
and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Pacholke. She had been in failing health
since December.
Services were held at the First United Church of Christ in Colby on Saturday,
with the Rev. Kenneth Dix officiating.
The former Erna Lungerhahn was born in Manitowoc County in 1887. In 1909 she
married William Neuhaus, and the couple then came to the Town of Colby, where
they farmed until 1948, when they moved into the City of Colby. Since the death
of her husband in 1964 she has made her home with her daughter.
Mrs. Neuhaus was a member of the First United Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Harvey Neuhaus of Sheboygan and Harold Neuhaus,
Plymouth; two daughters, Mrs. Erwin (Edna) Schoerer, Manitowoc and Mrs. Howard
(Ella) Pacholke of Sauk City; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;
one brother, August Lungerhahn of School Hill; one sister, Adela Sixel of
Cleveland.
Two children, Elmer and Ervin, and two brothers and three sisters preceded her
in death.
