Larson, Shirley Jane (31 October 1941 – 13 June 2021)

Shirley J. Larson, 79, of Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, passed away at Wells Nature View, in Marshfield, on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

Shirley Jane Hoefs was born on October 31, 1941, in Marshfield, the daughter of Edward F. and Elinor M. (Schultz) Hoefs. She was raised and received her education in Stratford, attending East Kerwin grade school and graduating from Stratford High School in 1960. Shirley was baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Lutheran Church in Stratford. After high school, she worked at the Allington & Van Ryzin store in Stratford. Later she farmed with her husband near Loyal, and then worked at the Loyal Public Schools for 11 years. After her retirement, Shirley did volunteer driving for 21 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.

Shirley had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her granddaughters, knitting, journaling, and watching the Brewers & Bucks.

She is survived by her daughter: Donna (Brian) Milz of Loyal; 3 granddaughters: Bethany Behrens of Marshfield, Courtney Behrens of Belgrade, MT, Tiffany Behrens of Loyal; one sister: Marlene (Gordon) Haselow of Loyal; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Joyce, in infancy; and 5 brothers: Gordon, Donald, Lester, Roger, and Gary in infancy.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal, with Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiating. Visitation will be held at the church, of Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Shirley's family would like to thank the staff at Wells Nature View and Ascension Home Care Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care.
