Peters, Dr. R.D. (Attended NCSOC - 1979)
Dr. R.D. Peters, a Neillsville optometrist, was among some 600 doctors of
optometry from seven upper Midwest states who attended the North Central States
Optometric Conference (NCSOC) in Minneapolis, January 26-28. He registered for
the annual conference in order that he might obtain continuing education
required for members of the health care profession.
Dr. Peters said he was offered over 70 courses, including subjects from
nutrition, headache, vision problems of children as well as the elderly, contact
lens, to in-depth courses in pathology and pharmacology.
Appearing on the program was Dr. Irwin M. Borish, professor in the School of
Optometry at Indiana University and author of the optometric classic, “Clinical
Refractions,” who presented a newly available procedure of examining for near
vision – which is of interest to those having trouble reading or using bifocals.
