Thoma, Frank Carl (22 October 1896 – 26 January 1979)
A life-long resident and farmer in the Town of Weston, Frank Carl Thoma, 82,
passed away after a brief illness in the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, Friday,
January 26. Thoma, Rt. 3 Neillsville, had served on the Town of Weston board for
several years.
Born on October 22, 1896, in the Town of Weston, to William B. and Bertha
(Scheel) Thoma, he joined his parents in farming after his schooling was
completed. On May 24, 1922, he married Minnie Meihack in Weston ceremonies and
the couple farmed until his retirement in 1963.
Surviving him is his wife; two sons, George and Gordon, both of Neillsville, one
daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Irene) Henchen, also of Neillsville; one sister, Mrs.
Lillian Appleyard, Neillsville; twelve grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was one son, Robert: and three brothers, John, Art and
George.
Pallbearers were Timothy, Jeff and Greg Thoma, Randy and James Henchen and
Richard Kessler.
Thoma was to be buried in the church cemetery after services at Immanuel
Lutheran Church, Globe on Monday, January 29, with the Rev. Ralph Stuebs
officiating. He was an active member in that congregation. The Gesche Funeral
Home, Neillsville, was in charge of arrangements.
