Tripp, Robert K.. (15 July 1957 – 5 February 1979)
A Clark County man died of head and neck injuries in a snowmobile accident,
Sunday afternoon, on County A, three miles west of Dorchester.
Dead was Robert K. Tripp, 21, of Rt. 1 Curtiss, who was dead on arrival at a
Medford hospital. Tripp’s snowmobile went out of control, and he was thrown from
the machine onto the highway. A passing motorist spotted the machine and then
found Tripp’s body.
Tripp and his wife had attended snowmobile races in Dorchester and were
returning home when the accident occurred. The wife, Dawn, stopped to visit with
friends and arrived at the scene of the accident after her husband had been
removed to the hospital.
He was born on July 15, 1957, in Phillips, and attended schools in Rib Lake. In
1977, he married Dawn Degenhardt in Curtiss ceremonies. He was employed by
Weather Shield in Medford.
Surviving him besides his wife are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Tripp,
Rt. 1 Ogema; three sisters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Heiser of Rib Lake, Mrs. Terry
(Kris) Degenhardt of Curtiss and Mrs. Victor (Kathleen) Rabehl of Mosinee; and
his grandmothers, Mrs. Regina Tripp of Medford and Mrs. Hilda Olson of Rib Lake.
Funeral services were to be held for Tripp this Wednesday from St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church in Curtiss with the Rev. Alan Minshall officiating. The Maurina
Funeral Home, Abbotsford, was in charge of arrangements.
